About Case Files

Case Files, the whole collective-y deal, opened sometime in November of 2006. The name was kind of an idea I chose on a whim...meaning, I really didn't think it through. However, that doesn't matter, because I love it and wouldn't imagine changing it! Anyway, as my first fanlisting was Psych-related and I am superobsessed with private investigator-y type characters, I thought Case Files was a fun way to reflect that! So there you go.

I had a tiny little nervous breakdown, when I thought all was lost. That's not a fun story. But I'm happy to say that there are plenty of awesome people online who helped save Case Files. *shuffle, ramble, wraps it up* This site is now generously hosted by Krissy!

the battle's almost won

The current layout features two of my favorite people, Lily Donaldson and Clémence Poésy. I just really wanted a change, and how could I say no to these girls on a layout? They're so pretty! Again, I didn't intend another black background deal, but sometimes these things have a mind of their own. A bunch of fun, a bit of a change. Always good!

Why fanlistings?

I've seen fanlistings, even joined a few, before I built my first fanlisting. Before I really got into that whole world, I spent a lot of my time on my fanart site More Adventurous. What finally got me to look into building fanlistings was the TV show Psych. I wanted to do something for this show, and I chose the episode that quickly cemented it as one of my favorite shows. The fanlisting went live in September 2006 and after that, I just became addicted. The concept behind a fanlisting is fairly simple, but effective. Part of the fun is building this little place, dedicated only to one subject you love so much. The other part of the fun is knowing you're doing something small to help unite other fans of the same subject. And of course, it's just fun. Building the layouts, making link buttons...it gives me some (in some ways, inexplicable) joy. An addition to building fanlistings, I lend a hand to the network as a Trouble Checker, and you can often find me around the TFL Boards posting or lurking.

Yes, I did do some of it on my own. But these places provided me with a thing, or three, that helped me build this place. (My more complete-ish resource list)
