Clémence Poésy (birth name Clémence Guichard) was born outside of Paris, France on November 30, 1982. Her father, Étienne Guichard, is a theatre director and actor and her mother is a French teacher. She has a younger sister, Maëlle, who is also an actress.
Clémence's first role was a small part in one of her father's plays. Since then, she has appeared in several French films - her first real film role was in Bienvenue chez les Rozes. Clémence starred in her first English-speaking role as Mary, Queen of Scots in the BBC mini-series Gunpowder, Treason & Plot. However, she's best known internationally for her role in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire as Fleur Delacour. She has also proven she could hold her own among well-established stars such as Colin Farrell and Ralph Fiennes in the film In Bruges.
Poésy's effortless but stylish appearance has also caught the attention of and is embraced by the fashion world. She has been featured in several fashion-related magazine. She is also featured in ads for Gap and was named a spokesmodel for a fragrance by fashion house Chloé.
