Hiro & Nathan

up, up, and away

nathan drops in on hiro, literally

In order to escape captivity, Nathan Petrelli took flight and landed outside a Nevada diner, where he met Hiro Nakamura. Hiro watched from the diner in amazement, and was excited to see somebody else with special powers. Nathan, however, preferred to keep his abilities to himself. Still, he was amused by Hiro and even asked if he would win his election. They parted ways after Nathan gave Hiro a ride back to a Las Vegas hotel.

did somebody say 'linderman'?

Hiro and Nathan met again, in Isaac Mendez's New York studio. Hiro needed help aquiring the sword he had in Isaac's paintings, and Nathan was looking for information to stop his brother Peter from exploding. Nathan was stunned to see Hiro again, and was also surprised to hear the improvement in Hiro's English. After catching up, they again parted ways. And with Nathan's help, Hiro was on his way to finding his sword.

a dangerous mission

He was so close to getting his sword, but Hiro couldn't even get past security. Then, once again, he saw Nathan Petrelli, who was working to bring down Linderman. They both realized how dangerous (but important) their missions were. Nathan helped Hiro get past security, and they continued their separate missions. Hiro finally got his hands on the sword, with his best friend Ando's help. Unfortunately, Linderman had too much information and too much to offer, and Nathan was unable to bring him down.

why i built this fanlisting

There is something about watching Hiro and Nathan that I find endearing. Hiro and Nathan's first meeting was hilarious. I just loved how Hiro was so amazed when he saw Nathan flying. And it's really amusing when Hiro talks about their powers and Nathan tries to get him to quiet down. I love the way Nathan treats Hiro. He can be a little condescending, but he's always nice to Hiro. I think in a way, he sort of admires Hiro and the way he is so set on his mission. They are obviously very different, but similar in some ways. They both want their life to have meaning, and they try to do what they think is best. They might not be on the same exact path, but I always hope to see them meet again.
