Fox Crane, played by Justin Hartley made his Passions debut in 2002. Hartley left the show in 2006, and was replaced by Mark Cameron Wystrach, who played Fox until the character's death in 2007.
Fox is the son of Ivy Winthrop and Julian Crane. While growing up, Fox felt ignored by his mother, who favored his older brother, Ethan. Fox bounced around several boarding schools before settling down in Harmony. The former playboy changed his mischievous ways once he fell in love with Whitney Russell. However, the relationship fell apart due to her many deceptions. The charming and sarcastic young man then fell madly in love with Kay Bennett. In order to provide for Kay and her daughter, Maria, Fox has focused his attention on becoming a successful executive at Crane Industries.

The return of Kay's first love Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald brings out Fox's dark side once again. When Kay learns of his deceit, she ends their relationship. He later believes he found love with Esme Vanderheusen.
Fox and Esme find happiness together. Unfortunately their happiness is short-lived when Fox is shot in the chest and murdered. Esme and Fox's family, devastated by his death, vow to find his killer. It is later revealed that Fox was murdered by Viki, Esme's niece.
When his character was first introduced, I found him extremely charming and funny. He had a mischeivous side, which I can always appreciate! Knowing his story just made him all the more likeable, someone I wanted to succeed. Of course, that meant I could expect him to get kicked, screwed over, and shot (I think I'm only half-exaggerating!) a few times. With every scheme and heartbreak, I really enjoyed watching him grow as a character. I was completely devastated to watch his murder, and whimpered a bit at the thought of watching the show with him.
